post update "HS codes are easy to look up, guns and ammo have entirely different codes that have nothing to do with this. " thanks waitwhatnothing

It won't cover guns because the RCMP has a giant order of Glock 45s and accessories coming from the USA all made in the USA.

Tariffs are charged by your own government against you, to discourage you from doing business with the target country, in favour of others that aren't tariffed or domestic. Government has zero incentive to charge and pay themselves.

Sorry iv had a few (to many tonight) and I’m ashamed to say I dropped the ball on that logic despite being an ECON Major.
