I have tried word searching for:

Guns
Firearms
Fire
Ammo
Ammunition

And nothing comes up. But when searching “Hunting” as you show in the picture I see the same, and I am left thinking that they have either:

- Decided that they are not tariffing firearms and ammunition

Or

- They have left it incredibly vague with “and similar hunting or shooting requisites.” To tariff them without saying they are tariffing them.

Is anyone that may be more informed on this sort of lingo able to speak on this?

It won't cover guns because the RCMP has a giant order of Glock 45s and accessories coming from the USA all made in the USA.

Yes they do because a company is importing the Glocks from the USA. The RCMP then buys it from that company. Any costs would be passed on. Their contract would fail if they had to pay 50% more. Like I said guns are not on the list. It's not a coincidence. Just like the transfer approval delays from the USA are not a coincidence.

Tariffs are charged by your own government against you, to discourage you from doing business with the target country, in favour of others that aren't tariffed or domestic. Government has zero incentive to charge and pay themselves.

HS codes are a system that catalogues basically everything that is traded around the world. There’s a whole category of codes (that start with 93) that cover firearms, firearms parts, firearm accessories, optics and ammunition. None of those are listed for tariffs.

Someone in the last thread said that the column referencing the decoys is the category but the actual subcategory in the next column ("fishing rods; other") is what is being tariffed.

Tariffs or no tariffs have never affected my purchasing decisions. Generally I just buy whatever the best and cheapest ammo I can find. Most of my guns are American but they were usually bought used. Also, most hunting/fishing gear you'll find is all made in China anyways lol

It won't cover guns because the RCMP has a giant order of Glock 45s and accessories coming from the USA all made in the USA. But if you try to import a Glock personally with a valid exemption there will be an infinite delay while it sits in the US warehouse awaiting transfer approval.

No, that subcategory refers to fishing rods. Literally nothing guns/ammo/hunting related are in this round of tarrifs (except knifes, which is unfortunate).

Powder is either Australian or Finn as well. Projectiles I'll just buy more lapua.

I also have enough stock that Trump will probably change his mind before I need to worry about buying more

It doesn't matter if it ships from the US, the tariffs only apply if the US is the country of origin. Otherwise people would just ship things to other countries first to avoid tariffs.
