Feets / Collection / My build 1301...again

Saturday morning before I left to the range, I discovered that some junkie had liberated my 1301 from my truck. Weirdly enough they didnt take any of the ammo/gear I had on top of the case. Kept my cool during the whole process, made a report & gave em the serial number (obviously im never seeing it again). the cop that came by seemed to be a gun guy & was super chill, but at this point I was feeling absolutely gutted. After mourning my loss for a few hours, the wife gave me the green light to go out & replace it. Safe to say I am happy with the upgrade & im just glad to have a replacement. I got the black Gen 2 Mod 2, which was cheaper then my gen 1?? idk how that works but fuck it we ball.

How long was the shotgun left in the truck?

Why not leave it in the house and load it up as your leaving for the range?

Usually im pretty adamant on bringing all my shit in with me. I got back home real late on Friday, so I figured it'd be fine to leave my bag in the truck for a few hours since I was leaving early anyways. Clearly that was not the case. Definitely learned a lesson the hard way.

Probably shouldn't post pics with pictures of what I assume is family on the wall...

I'm actually kind of surprised the cop was so cool. Where I live, a stolen firearm usually results in charges against the victim of the theft.

An older guy I worked with had his truck broken into while it was parked on the side of the road and his group was out in the forest hunting for deer. The smashed the window and stole about 6 guns. The cop taking the police report was giving them shit about not having trigger locks on the guns in the truck (why someone in the group gave them that info I’m not entirely sure), but the guy I knew got in the cops face and told them it’s easy enough to break one off anyway if you don’t care about damaging the gun so what’s the point. Cop ended up just letting them off with a warning not to do it again lol. We really are looked after by morons

I've seen cops leave their running cruiser and go into stores for more than "just a second". I assume there's a 12ga in the trunk.

Don’t some cruisers have one in some short of sheath on the center console? Lol

What sight and mount do you have? I've got a ODG 1301.

More on the junkie story please 🍿

Do you live in the ghetto?

No its a small farm town in BC, during the 20 years ive lived around here its always been fairly quiet. Unfortunately with new development & expansion thats been going on, the past 3 years have been plagued by theft

Assuming your left hand goes onto the forend, how do you actuate that light? Is it thanks to a 'C-clamp'?

Just threw a cheaper light on my tactical style shotgun. Honestly should have done it sooner

Man that sucks, I'm sorry that happened to you. At least the cop you got was chill. When my house got broken into and the robber tried to steal my guns but only walked off with my .22 rifle because it was the only one small enough to fit in the bag he stole, I got the third degree from the responding officer hours later because all of my trigger locks had been popped off and were on the floor. Thankfully no charges but the reprimanding was unnecessary. Also you've definitely learned this lesson but never leave anything valuable in your vehicle no matter how convenient it may be.

I appreciate it man. Sorry to hear about the B&E on your property, thats brutal. Yeah I did some reflecting afterwards, in hindsight it was a dumb move to leave it in my truck in the first place.

2

u/boomstickjonny 25d ago

Thanks, it was years ago and my insurance covered everything so it wasnt as bad as it could've been but it definitely taught me some lessons. I had to learn the lesson about my truck the hard way as well, thankfully it didn't involve firearms. Upside is its the kind of mistake you only make once.

u/TheScranHouse 25d ago

Thats good it was covered. Yeah no doubt man. This also makes me wanna wire in a kill switch on my truck, because the amount of vehicle theft in BC is wild right now.

1

u/boomstickjonny 25d ago

If you dont have GPS on your truck its definitely a worthy investment as it makes it easier to find. To be fair though, depending on where in BC you live auto theft has always been a big problem.

Would a full standard length shotty fit sideways down that hallway?🤓

4

u/TheScranHouse 25d ago

Lmao yes. Now that you mention it, it does look quite narrow
