Buy recommendations Can you recommend a budget-friendly, high-power firearm? New or used, lever-action or bolt-action

I am looking for a reputable, new or used high-power bolt-action or lever-action firearm. The maximum price I can spend is less than $1,000. Are there any suggestions?

If you want something that kicks and is fun to shoot, a 270 winchester is a good choice.

It’s nice to have a relatively inexpensive weapon but the ammo you shoot too should be rather inexpensive.

I’d say 45-70 is fun but at $100 for 20 rounds, it gets expensive..

You can still get S&B 405 loads for $40-50. I think I last bought a box for $43 in April or May.
