Buy recommendations Can you recommend a budget-friendly, high-power firearm? New or used, lever-action or bolt-action

I am looking for a reputable, new or used high-power bolt-action or lever-action firearm. The maximum price I can spend is less than $1,000. Are there any suggestions?

u/No_Amount_69 What is the usecase? There have been reports of bear being stopped with 22LR but I will not suggest 22LR for a bear defense (actually i will not recommend firearms as first line of defense in bear defense). So, depending upon your use case from plinking to big game hunting, you may need anything from 22LR to a 577 Nitro Express.
