Recurring Canadaguns Politics and Debate Thread

Please post all your Gun Politics or Ban-related ideas, questions, initiatives, comments, suggestions, news articles, and recommendations in this thread. This thread recurs every 14 days.

First and foremost, this is a Canadian Gun subreddit, so keep it at least decently related to both of those things.

This thread is not for general politics, there are plenty other subs that are meant for that. Off-topic threads may be removed, especially if they are leading to personal attacks, flame wars, etc.

To prevent the main sub being flooded with dozens of similar threads, text posts complaining about/asking about/chatting about gun politics will be sent here.

We understand that politics is a touchy subject, and at times things can get heated. A reminder of the subreddit rules, when commenting, where subreddit users are expected to abide.

Keep this Canadian gun politics related and polite. Off-topic stuff, flame wars, negative generalizations against groups, personal attacks and gate-keeping will be removed. Please flag any comments to bring to the attention of mods otherwise exercise your upvoting and downvoting ability.

There’s been a not-so-subtle shift from suspicious accounts here trying to pin the blame on Trump, or on Pierre for not running a good enough campaign. As retarded as some of these takes are, the basic indisputable truth remains:

The Liberals banned your guns. The NDP voted with them to ban the guns and uphold the bans. The Conservatives voted against them.

The Liberals expanded the bans. The NDP voted with them again. The Conservatives voted against them again.

This country is cooked either way at this point, so maybe it doesn’t really matter. But anyone trying to frame any of this as the fault of ANYONE other than Carney, Trudeau, the Liberals, or the NDP is either an abject moron or letting their worldview/ideology seep into their posts.

They’re lying to you. They’re spreading subtle propaganda.

Not that it matters, but don’t fall for it.

Its a reoccurring thing every time there's a large political moment. Some of them do it for free, others are just brigading from different subs (if you know, you know, that discord isn't that hidden lol). If you have the reddit enhancenent suite it's easy to flag those people.

We see the same users asking the usual questions (often laced with pp bad talking points). My personal favorite is the one where they'll cheer for unity but they'll actively attack certain people because they aren't on the same political spectrum.

The buy Canadian thing doesn't hold up too well either when it comes to firearms because the same government promoting it is also totally fine destroying local businesses because they're not ideologically aligned. Hell we're already seeing businesses take advantage of it, again (Tim Hortons, Loblaws etc.) it's virtue signalling to the highest degree.

There's people in this very thread who act like shits sweet but they were pro buyback and government just a month ago. Absolute clowns.

If people were truly pro Canada they'd stop shilling for Carney and giving him free passes (I've seen amazing leaps in logic about how Carney is 5d pro gun) and actually start asking for transparency and accountability.

Consumer debt is now 2.6 trillion but who cares about that or rampent immigration and wage suppression, it's all orange man bad baby!
