Recurring Canadaguns Politics and Debate Thread

Please post all your Gun Politics or Ban-related ideas, questions, initiatives, comments, suggestions, news articles, and recommendations in this thread. This thread recurs every 14 days.

First and foremost, this is a Canadian Gun subreddit, so keep it at least decently related to both of those things.

This thread is not for general politics, there are plenty other subs that are meant for that. Off-topic threads may be removed, especially if they are leading to personal attacks, flame wars, etc.

To prevent the main sub being flooded with dozens of similar threads, text posts complaining about/asking about/chatting about gun politics will be sent here.

We understand that politics is a touchy subject, and at times things can get heated. A reminder of the subreddit rules, when commenting, where subreddit users are expected to abide.

Keep this Canadian gun politics related and polite. Off-topic stuff, flame wars, negative generalizations against groups, personal attacks and gate-keeping will be removed. Please flag any comments to bring to the attention of mods otherwise exercise your upvoting and downvoting ability.

seeing how americans are trying to get rid of tax stamps on suppressors got me a little bit envious ngl

half of europe treats suppressors as the health protection device as they are, cmon canada

EU is a bad generalization given they range from Germany to Finland / Austria in terms of gun laws, but I understand what you’re trying to go for

To be fair most places in the EU are fine with suppersors.

The amount of money that I spend on my firearms, vs how much money American spend on the same firearme, ammo, and accessories. I would say it's at least 30 percent cheaper for Americans.

Americans: no tax on suppressor and full auto registration cert!

Canadians if both parts are legalized: just shut up and take my money!

The Americans have alot more fight in them and they don't put up the stupid bans and get them overturned. We don't seem to have much success of doing that in this Canada. Which is incredibly sad and demoralizing.

On the topic of suppressors, we need to tell them that baguettes are now prohibited devices. Maybe this will sway the Quebec votes.
