Recurring Canadaguns Politics and Debate Thread

Please post all your Gun Politics or Ban-related ideas, questions, initiatives, comments, suggestions, news articles, and recommendations in this thread. This thread recurs every 14 days.

First and foremost, this is a Canadian Gun subreddit, so keep it at least decently related to both of those things.

This thread is not for general politics, there are plenty other subs that are meant for that. Off-topic threads may be removed, especially if they are leading to personal attacks, flame wars, etc.

To prevent the main sub being flooded with dozens of similar threads, text posts complaining about/asking about/chatting about gun politics will be sent here.

We understand that politics is a touchy subject, and at times things can get heated. A reminder of the subreddit rules, when commenting, where subreddit users are expected to abide.

Keep this Canadian gun politics related and polite. Off-topic stuff, flame wars, negative generalizations against groups, personal attacks and gate-keeping will be removed. Please flag any comments to bring to the attention of mods otherwise exercise your upvoting and downvoting ability.

As much as this court case is providing hopium for the community, we should be investing more time and resources into politics and getting the CPC elected in the next general election.

That will be our only chance of reversing any of the damage done.

What can we realistically do though? There’s a huge chunk of this country that are absolutely dumb as fuck and think anything the CPC does will make us the US. How do you get through to someone that dense?

Any suggestions on how to deal with the majority of the country that supports a government running deficits twice the size that Trudeau did and has a total disregard for democracy? You start.

Easy just wait for the boomers to stop voting. It'll only take 10-15 years at this point. We gotta just thug it out until then.

Right on brother. Get involved in your CPC association. Join your local board. Sign up to volunteer. Learn roles on a campaign. Consider being a candidate. Don't sweat the big stuff nationally that you can't do anythin about just focus on your community.

If you can't stomach the CPC even just for one election then get involved in changing hearts and minds and policies in your local NDP or Bloc or even Liberals on guns (just don't vote Liberal until they actually change).

Poilievre is the only reason the CPC won 144 seats. Not his fault that the CPC is full of snakes that decide to switch sides when it's convenient. If he resigns you know his replacement will be another liberal lite clown like O'Toole or Ontario Liberal Premier Dougie Ford.
