Buy recommendations First time gun buyer

Any recommendations for a first gun I have a budget of 1000 dollars and most likely wanting to get a rimfire I been looking at the rock armory tm22.

Derya TM 22 has been pretty fun to play with. Mini Rifle is growing in IPSC.
