Application / Regulation advice Sending firearms via Canada Post

Is there anything special I need to do to mail myself some firearms? Or just box them up and send them?

CP says a trigger lock, but 95% of retailers and private sellers don't ship with them. Don't tell Canada Post it's a firearm, some tellers freak out and try to say they won't ship, you need this, you need that, etc. Pack it well, and make sure the muzzle is protected adequately (I've had many shipped to me with the barrel poking out of the box).

I usually just use and have received firearms with a zip tie through the magwell and receiver. Suffices to “restrict operation”

Zip ties are the best way. Also serve a visual confirmation for the recipient.
