My local CT doesn't even record anything for real ammo. Visual pal check and that's it. For guns they go through the verification, but they follow the letter of the law and nothing more.
Keep in mind it is my understanding that canadian tire gun sales are separate from CT corporate, it's up to each individual store owner if and how they participate.
A few years ago one just outside Winnipeg wanted a second piece of government issued photo ID. He kept saying they needed valid ID and I kept explaining that my RPAL was valid ID. Finally he said we need a second piece due to too many fake PAL’s coming thru the store. That was a new one for me.
