Recurring Canadaguns Politics and Debate Thread

Please post all your Gun Politics or Ban-related ideas, questions, initiatives, comments, suggestions, news articles, and recommendations in this thread. This thread recurs every 14 days.

First and foremost, this is a Canadian Gun subreddit, so keep it at least decently related to both of those things.

This thread is not for general politics, there are plenty other subs that are meant for that. Off-topic threads may be removed, especially if they are leading to personal attacks, flame wars, etc.

To prevent the main sub being flooded with dozens of similar threads, text posts complaining about/asking about/chatting about gun politics will be sent here.

We understand that politics is a touchy subject, and at times things can get heated. A reminder of the subreddit rules, when commenting, where subreddit users are expected to abide.

Keep this Canadian gun politics related and polite. Off-topic stuff, flame wars, negative generalizations against groups, personal attacks and gate-keeping will be removed. Please flag any comments to bring to the attention of mods otherwise exercise your upvoting and downvoting ability.

Not that most of you care, but a large part of the U.S. NFA was knocked down by a federal court, meaning SBR’s, SBS’s, and suppressors no longer need registration or paperwork in most of the country now. Feels cool to be afforded the freedoms that Canadian’s had long before the Americans.

Anything the U.S. does, Canada likes to do the opposite. What’s good for you guys ends up being inevitable bad news for us.

I hope you guys get relief one day, at least you guys can still ride the Norinco gravy train, imports to the U.S. have been banned since the 90’s.

Norinco makes actual dogshit for the most part, you're genuinely not missing anything. I have friends in yurope, even their AKM's are trash now.

Type 56’s were legal before they were banned a few years back right? Could you at least get imports for those at that time?

The SKS? Still legal. The AK variant was imported when it was non prohib, but the current crop of Chinese AKM's that can be bought in Europe are typically bottom of the barrel.

They don't really sell the premo quality AK's anymore like they did in the 90s.
