Recurring Canadaguns Politics and Debate Thread

Please post all your Gun Politics or Ban-related ideas, questions, initiatives, comments, suggestions, news articles, and recommendations in this thread. This thread recurs every 14 days.

First and foremost, this is a Canadian Gun subreddit, so keep it at least decently related to both of those things.

This thread is not for general politics, there are plenty other subs that are meant for that. Off-topic threads may be removed, especially if they are leading to personal attacks, flame wars, etc.

To prevent the main sub being flooded with dozens of similar threads, text posts complaining about/asking about/chatting about gun politics will be sent here.

We understand that politics is a touchy subject, and at times things can get heated. A reminder of the subreddit rules, when commenting, where subreddit users are expected to abide.

Keep this Canadian gun politics related and polite. Off-topic stuff, flame wars, negative generalizations against groups, personal attacks and gate-keeping will be removed. Please flag any comments to bring to the attention of mods otherwise exercise your upvoting and downvoting ability.

Hate to say it but the conservative bench does not have enough star power to be considered a credible government in waiting. Carney is going to sell his small wins like stronger jobs numbers and whatever pathetic deal he gets by bowing down to Trump. Either way, liberals are going to win again in ‘29 and after that too. It’s going to be a long 20 years.

It’s legit hilarious how much he’s conceding, and the Canada sub eat it up like the good cucks they are. Concession after concession and they’re like “Carney is looking out for us” eat the slop.

Unironically for the economy to reach a point of depression era levels but even then that’s highly unlikely as they can end up blaming someone else.

Seems like there’s a big divergence between left leaning voters. Many dislike a lot of what his government has been doing so far this year.

Seems like it’s not affecting his approval rating and there’s no opposition that can really step up yet and be hard hitting enough.

Sucks because you can tell much of the liberal “austerity” cutting and pragmatism is actually just ham fisted, pro-corporate BS. It’s why there are liberal MPs under Carney resigning
