Recurring Canadaguns Politics and Debate Thread

Please post all your Gun Politics or Ban-related ideas, questions, initiatives, comments, suggestions, news articles, and recommendations in this thread. This thread recurs every 14 days.

First and foremost, this is a Canadian Gun subreddit, so keep it at least decently related to both of those things.

This thread is not for general politics, there are plenty other subs that are meant for that. Off-topic threads may be removed, especially if they are leading to personal attacks, flame wars, etc.

To prevent the main sub being flooded with dozens of similar threads, text posts complaining about/asking about/chatting about gun politics will be sent here.

We understand that politics is a touchy subject, and at times things can get heated. A reminder of the subreddit rules, when commenting, where subreddit users are expected to abide.

Keep this Canadian gun politics related and polite. Off-topic stuff, flame wars, negative generalizations against groups, personal attacks and gate-keeping will be removed. Please flag any comments to bring to the attention of mods otherwise exercise your upvoting and downvoting ability.

Some of you seem to forget, we're not dealing with pragmatists or economists who are looking for a way out of the bans. We are dealing with authoritarians seeking to disarm the population. They aren't just going to wash there hands of it, even if given the perfect way out.

You also seem to forget that there's vastly more law abiding civilian gun owners in Canada than there are active duty police officers and military. They can barely deal with people owning guns illegally anyways.

I don't get why people think Carney would be different. The confiscation program was dragging for 5 years under Trudeau and it started rolling with Carney in charge. I'm sure part of those 5 years were spent on bs feasibility studies and "consultations" but Carney is doing more to seize the guns than Trudeau ever did.

I haven't forgotten anything. Just because it's impossible to enforce doesn't mean they'll give up.

We just have to keep holding the line. Its a slow and long battle.

Get more people involved to increase pal numbers.

And most of all, shoot what we have as much as we can to support the local businesses and culture.
