Feets / Collection / My build Any Remington fans?
Part of my shotgun collection: the Remington family tree. Every pump-action that Remington made up to the legendary 870.
From top down:
-Model 10
-Model 17 (only ever offered in 20 gauge)
-Model 29
-Model 31
-Model 870

They sure were underrated until the 870 came along. I love all the early bottom-eject designs

Amazing collection!
The model 17, Model 31, and the 870 are arguably the most influential pump actions ever made. Virtually every successful pump action shotgun made in the last 50 years borrows major design features off of these 3 guns.

Totally! It's funny how none were considered truly successful compared to the Model 12, yet both the 17 and 31 each fueled their own legacies for decades

Very cool! It’s historic arms aren’t as fabled as Winchester, which is a shame. I wish Beretta would buy RemArms and bring life back into the brand. The Uberti Remington revolvers could actually be Remington reproductions, a Rolling Block, a Model 14/141, 700s based on Tikkas, an improved QC 870, etc.

Got my first Remington shotguns this year. A model 1100 Magnum from 1979 and an 870 Wingmaster from 1974. Love them both but I need to get out and shoot them more.

Heck yea gotta shoot 'em! Good choices, when I first got into clay shooting the firdt gun I got was an old 1100. They're great shotguns

The one in the middle (Model 29) has a 32" barrel, it's actually a pain to get in and out of the safe

I started collecting shotguns after getting hooked on Sporting Clays, and the minimum barrel length for that (at my club at least) is 26", so all my guns are cannons haha. Most are 30"

As much as I love Remington, Mossberg wins my heart simply for the improved ergonomics.

Fair enough! The 500 for sure has its own legendary reputation too, and the quality of a new Mossberg will crush anything with the Remington name from the last 2 decades

I bought a 2020 made 870 magnum... the fit and finish is so poor compared to my old wingmaster. It's not even comparable.

There’s a couple of the smaller ones sitting on the used shelf at reliable gun for a while. Been wanting to pick one up but the wallet says no

I always eyeball the Model 14 they have for sale in 30 Rem. I even have a reloading set made for both 30-30 and 30 Rem, so I could make my own ammo for it.
I just don't shoot rifles enough to justify it, and my wallet also says no lol

I think then not being as fabled was part of how I fell down the rabbit hole. I kept learning more about their less-succesful shotguns and finding them so interesting
