Gun and gear reviews Citadel Adler ad-500 warranty nightmare
Hello all. Thought I'd share my experience.
I purchased an AD500 in .308 in August or so of 2025. Upon trying it for the first time, I couldn't hit a barn at 100 yards. Figured it was just me and iron sights. After a breakin cleaning I noticed a piece of iron on the floor (uh oh I hope that's not out of the rifle). Upon inspection and looking at the parts manual, it was a piece of the cam pin that the bolt slides on to rotate. Put in a claim, all was well, they sent me a new part. Great!
I then put an lpvo on the rifle and took it to the indoor range to sight in. I had a 1.5-2" grouping... At 25 yards. Turns out, the barrel is failing. Rifling scored and pitted. Ok. Great. Put it another warranty claim, and they had me send the rifle out to gravel agency in Quebec from Alberta. This was December 2025.
Warranty was approved and process began. After a couple months went by, I began following up frequently. They were waiting for parts, or a new rifle. Then a new rifle showed up at their facility, but it failed inspection. Now about a month ago, I had a new reference number issued in my firearms account. Awesome it must be on the way soon, finally.
They sent me an invoice saying it was ready for pickup, in Quebec. I followed up with them to confirm it will be mailed back, and they said yes just an automated error, and they would send a tracking number when sent. Awesome.
3 days later I follow up as I still had not received a confirmation. They told me it was shipped July 13th via Canada post, and should be arriving in the next couple days, and keep checking the post office. Fair enough. It is now July 29th and after having no delivery notice still, I have been hounding them to send a tracking number or even any form of proof that they sent the rifle back to me, or that their IT department was working on the issue like they said (not sure how it's an IT issue). They told me to take their word for it, that wildfires have been disrupting Canada post, and they cannot disclose company information, and they can't do anything about a refund until they "figure it out". Canada post standard across Canada is 4 business days according to their website, and no postage delay is active on their website. They have basically told me now to just wait.
If a company can't provide something as simple as a tracking number for a package they shipped to a customer, and have no real explanation as to why, I'm convinced they haven't sent me anything at all.
Any advice?

There's absolutely no reason for them to not send you the tracking information, unless they're trying to conceal the fact that they haven't actually shipped anything. You'll be able to find that information once the package arrives anyway, so lying about it is a really stupid move on the part of the business.

If you can get them to hand over the Canada post tracking info, and it truly is Canada post’s fault for the delay, last time I had a gun go missing, I opened a ticket with Canada post on the phone (you have to play phone tag with the AI operator a bit to get them to connect you with a live agent), and mentioned that the package was firearms related and if it wasn’t found, I’d have to phone the police (twice this has happened). They got on it REAL QUICK and within a day, the packages were moving again

Some places like Tactical Imports do amazing warranty for turkshit. Which you need if you are buying Turkish guns. Sent me parts for mine really quick, with options for refund vs return and repair vs a new gun. I ended up choosing for them just to send the part, but the fact they had so many options and they would be OK with any of them was awesome

I had a similar situation on my Levtac 92 (Citadel as well) Gravel was super quick to fix it and get it out but they sent the wrong tracking info initially and I was wondering where it was. Was sitting ag the PO for a couple days before I figured it out.
Maybe try calling your local PO in a few days and asking if they have anything under your name as you didn't get tracking.

I was thinking of buying one of those in 308, but with all the issues people seem to be having I am definitely passing on buying one. I’ll just get myself a Ruger American 2 instead.
Only reason I was even considering one was I grew up shooting my Dads old Remington semi in 308. He passed away and my evil stepmother gave away all his guns to her family in N.S. while I am in AB and didn’t have a PAL at the time. If it would have been my mother she would have either held them or sent them out to me. Now I’m paying $1000s to get back the collection I should have inherited, and my own old cooey 22, and Winchester 410 I had all through highschool.

For the price of these turkish guns I'm surprised that they have a warranty at all

Thank you for sharing your experience and sorry you're experiencing this The only Turkish firearm I bought is a shotgun and I'll never buy anything else Will stick to my bolt action 308 and lever action 556 until supreme court decision and then maybe will consider a semi

I just got an email from TNA about the new Adler AD500A Tactical. Do they just make these look like dogshit so they don't get banned? 🤣

Good luck, anything Citadel is dog shit for warranty. I waited 8 Months for a canted barrel on my citadel levtac, I had to spam them every month and even then they said they couldn't even give me the same caliber because it was out of stock while also being sold everywhere. Sent a 357 and got a 44mag back.
Also while dealing with Gravel Agency I was talking to one rep for months then suddenly someone different contacted me saying I never reached to them and they had no information in regards to my claim and me dropping the rifle at their office. Fuck'em too.
So fuck Citadel, Fuck Legacy and Fuck Northern Exposure.
