The right to defend yourself from individuals and the government is fundamental, without those, you have nothing.

Yes defend yourself from the government 😆 name 1x that has ever been successful. Not to mention the National Guard being deployed in every major cities based on how they voted. And ICE roaming around harassing citizens arresting people at random. The adoption of the Chinese style surveillance state using AI.

Individually it’s pretty hopeless to defend against the govt (and nearly so for even hiding from it).

That said, collectively if there was a big enough event & was something which united large swaths against the govt … it’d be pretty hopeless for the govt.   Even  the US military would get overwhelmed if the percent of the population was big enough.

What would really impede the success of an  (armed) revolt isn’t govt firepower, but its  surveillance apparatus.  It’ll get stopped before it hits critical mass.

1776 the American Revolution, the men who revolted were among the wealthiest and most comfortable people in the colonies. What kind of revolution was it, anyway? Was it really to secure freedom, democracy, for all Americans?
