While they have different laws that allow this, depending on who you are, its far from free.

In Canada, you can go to jail for burning "certain" flags and denying "certain" historical events that didn't even occur in Canada but sure we are certainly drowning in our freedoms here.

I recently found out that denying the holocaust was a criminal offence in Canada. Now they are pushing for residential school denialism to be criminalized. I do believe both of these historical events happened just to be clear but no one should be restricted from speaking their opinion no matter how vile.

The state should not play a role in limiting what people say unless it is regarding calls to violence or such things.

People need to remember that freedom in Canada doesn't exist and never did. Canada is a country of privileges that can be taken away very easily if the right government and public opinion exist.
