News / Politics / Activism Feds Won't Block Supreme Court Interveners

Post image

The Attorney General of Canada just informed the SCC it won't oppose the groups asking to join CCFR v. Canada as interveners, thereby allowing them to participate in the case.

This isn't a ruling on the merits, just the AGC declining to block their entry. Intervener status itself doesn't declare a side, but based on what these orgs publicly stand for, it's not hard to guess. To keep it simple, 11 of the 12 interveners are likely to side with the CCFR, against 1 which is explicitly on the government's side.

I'm glad to see multiple firearms bodies jumping in. Let's hope their voices are heard.

I'm still keeping my hopes incredibly low because my faith in our court system is uh, not high to say the least.

Man, if they let the OICs stand this country is in for a rude awakening

As much as I wish the OIC is overturned I have 0 faith in our courts. I’m quite afraid that this is the beginning of the end of for privileges in this country.
