I’m guessing you’re a new gun owner or new PAL owner?
Edit: if you take money out of the factor, def the valmet.

I would wait before buying the Carmel or MK-15, they aren’t really in country right now so people have a vague idea if it’s a POS or an actual good gun.

I hate to say it but I get the feeling that 75% of the reviews on YouTube by channels with lots of followers are usually paid bullshit.

It's like when I was looking for reviews on optics from apex. You'll find plenty of great sponsored ones. But it seems anyone that actually bought the optic themselves hate it

Look into the carmel and mk15. They're coming to the markets soon. There's also the BAR rifles, or you could gamble your money on the backland hunter (please don't) akdas and henry homesteader are good

A lot. You would probably have to send it into the gunsmith more times than you shoot it. I haven't gotten one, but I'm basing my statements from watching videos and reading reviews. The amount of negative comments about either the feeding not working well. Or either the magazines not working well, or just overall bad components. It's a shotgun meets rifle.

Get the garand guy to build you an M1 garand in 308 or 30-06. Its definitely the most based gun we can own

lol, I don't think many people do it themselves, but to give an example you can get awesome stuff like a galil or an rk/ak with the right parts kit:
Basically you need:
A donor valmet (so you have the legal NR AK reciever)
A parts kit of the ak family gun you want to convert to
Then long story short you find a willing gunsmith to put it together. Part of the reason why people convert it is the regular valmet hunters don't have a pistol grip, they have a hunting rifle like grip. But the NR part is the reciever, so you can swap the stock at will, basically. Makes it a lot better if you have a donor valmet in poor condition.

Theres about a dozen semi auto rifle models available that im aware of and the sks is the cheapest

Honestly at this point I wouldn't buy any semi in Canada until after the supreme Court ruling. If the bans are lifted there will be a lot more options.
If the bans aren't lifted, expect the current options to be banned. Unless Natalie loses her shit even more and Carney stops caring to keep a few ridings in Quebec to give her the boot. Her and poly won't stop until the liberals ban everything.
