Recurring Canadaguns Politics and Debate Thread

Please post all your Gun Politics or Ban-related ideas, questions, initiatives, comments, suggestions, news articles, and recommendations in this thread. This thread recurs every 14 days.

First and foremost, this is a Canadian Gun subreddit, so keep it at least decently related to both of those things.

This thread is not for general politics, there are plenty other subs that are meant for that. Off-topic threads may be removed, especially if they are leading to personal attacks, flame wars, etc.

To prevent the main sub being flooded with dozens of similar threads, text posts complaining about/asking about/chatting about gun politics will be sent here.

We understand that politics is a touchy subject, and at times things can get heated. A reminder of the subreddit rules, when commenting, where subreddit users are expected to abide.

Keep this Canadian gun politics related and polite. Off-topic stuff, flame wars, negative generalizations against groups, personal attacks and gate-keeping will be removed. Please flag any comments to bring to the attention of mods otherwise exercise your upvoting and downvoting ability.

Another concession to the US regarding online streaming….seems like even the LPC elbows aren’t up, wonder how voters are liking Carney??

It's ok bro the elbozo gun owners in this sub are just happy that the scary evil Adolf Hitler lite PP is not in power or else he would take away their matcha and Netflix.

To be fair this is just Boomers who still dickride the LPC. A lot of the lefties and commies are already jumping ship and going back to the NDP.

Just gotta wait out all of our boomer relatives until they can't vote anymore before things start getting better in Canada sadly.

Looking at 338 Canada depending on the age demographic people are slowly leaving the support for the LPC at the door. It's happening slowly but it is happening. In the 18-34 age demographic the LPC went from high's of 42% recently to dropping down to 39%. The NDP have sky rocketed in the most in that time though going from 15%-20%. 35-54 it's neck and neck between the Liberals and Cons with the Cons leading at the moment by like 1%. However keep in mind that the Liberals have a good chunk of there support because there are a lot of people in this age demographic who seem to have not gone back to the NDP support. Keep in mind that in pre 2025 election the NDP were polling at like over 10% with this age demographic and now the supports plummeted. 55+ of course still give Liberals a comical amount. Only age demographic to give them a 50%+ of the voter share. I attribute this funnily enough to boomers being comically self centered as a age demographic and on top of that there support for the NDP (Yes there are those in the 55+ age demographic who support the NDP.) Going from low double digits to as low as 4% support. In general it's pretty safe to say that it is indeed the boomer demographic mixed with some early Gen X bringing the liberals support up. That and the NDP support needing to severly rebuild itself.

So when it comes to polls for intent, they may vote that way. But the question is if they're willing to throw their vote again to the Liberals to keep the conservatives out.

It feels good to them to say they align with the NDP but we'll see if they stay there (huge doubt imo)

Yep. The liberals are 100% winning the next election. Just a country of absolute fucking morons. I hate this place so much

What’s to hate? Don’t be such a doomer. Be happy you get to pay taxes. Taxes used to make you into a paper criminal.

Bro when I see a third of pay cheque cut and 50% of my boys cut, it legit brings me so much joy, cost of living is through the roof but I’m honesty so happy my salary loses a massive chunk every pay cycle. While I shop discount groceries I get to sleep soundly at night knowing Carney and co eating good with $500,000 expensed meals. Best country ever 🥲

Not only are they 100 percent winning 2029, there is a very good chance, like at least 70 percent chance they also win 2033, so 2037 is the earliest we can expect a change in government. And even that is not guaranteed. The LPC has a death hold on the Canadian electorate.

At this point the only thing they haven’t given up is the gun confiscation lol

But think about how bad it could have been if Strawman PP was elected!
