Recurring Canadaguns Politics and Debate Thread

Please post all your Gun Politics or Ban-related ideas, questions, initiatives, comments, suggestions, news articles, and recommendations in this thread. This thread recurs every 14 days.

First and foremost, this is a Canadian Gun subreddit, so keep it at least decently related to both of those things.

This thread is not for general politics, there are plenty other subs that are meant for that. Off-topic threads may be removed, especially if they are leading to personal attacks, flame wars, etc.

To prevent the main sub being flooded with dozens of similar threads, text posts complaining about/asking about/chatting about gun politics will be sent here.

We understand that politics is a touchy subject, and at times things can get heated. A reminder of the subreddit rules, when commenting, where subreddit users are expected to abide.

Keep this Canadian gun politics related and polite. Off-topic stuff, flame wars, negative generalizations against groups, personal attacks and gate-keeping will be removed. Please flag any comments to bring to the attention of mods otherwise exercise your upvoting and downvoting ability.

These nincompoops could use the buyback money to hire some more personnel in the caf so my application wouldn't take Soo long, like holy shit guys, the amount of time, information and bullshit I'm having to go through I'm thinking I'm not gonna join anymore, all this to die for Israel, no thanks youd think with all the caf shortages they'd make the hiring process easier and faster PS-- IF U THINK getting a pal is a long process apply to the caf

Go to a Remembrance Day ceremony this year, see how many people actually attend. Don’t waste your life for a country that will just replace you

Honestly it doesn't help that one of the original purposes of remembrance day has kind of failed i.e encourage no more wars to happen. That and a lot of the wars we're remembering are kind of questionable morally. Because frankly if you look at Canada the nation many of the wars we've chosen to get involved with are probably ones we shouldn't have. Like besides World War 2 can anyone seriously and easily defend Canada the nation states participation in it. Like Canadian citizens have fought in wars that might be morally reasonable say fighting against the fascists in the Spanish civil war but considering how the government of Canada treated those people after the fact makes you think.
