Ditch the bipod and practice using a loop sling of some kind. Real scout shit. I find it more versatile when walking through the bush as well

I was just reading up on loop/ching slings, and that would be a good idea! I've been doing target shooting from a bench, but will take off the bipod when bringing it hunting to lighten the load

The magpul RLS sling is a good option if you want something simple and effective for cheap
