In Nova Scotia it’s illegal to shoot on crown land and you can’t hunt on Sundays

Until the boomer generation dies off you guys are ‘cooked’

Ask anyone during Covid on the east coast the world was ending and we were all doomed, meanwhile the rest of the world started moving on.

Draconian laws and regulations for no reason other than old fuds

Its not getting better - I'm from there, and visit once a year, the younger generation are totally onboard. Its a total ecosystem of victim mentality and "Please government, save us"

It also dosent help that all the boomers from Ontario move here and contribute nothing while destroying the housing market and taking up healthcare resources

they literally ruined my hometown - I can't afford to retire there anymore. When I left in 2010, the median house price for a real nice house was about 180K, its now 450K for the SAME HOUSE - I've checked historical data on houses, and its mind blowing

Yeah same for my home town in NB. I literally just flew back from my yearly visit and me and the wife would love to get a home there but with slim pickings for jobs and the post covid housing market its made it impossible. And we are a six figure earners in Alberta.

Sorry to hear that. My wife would love to move there but we can't figure out how ANYONE there is earning a living

Thats our thoughts exactly. You basically need to have some kinds niche corporate job (highly competitive & they are all taken) or drive a semi truck or own some buissness that is already solidified.

I can't speak for NB but I live in PEI, wife works for the province and Im a red seal tradesman, both easily attainable and secure jobs. Our household income is around $180k gross which is pretty good for the maritimes.

That's great for you.... ive also got my ticket, and a 3rd class power engineer. Both avenues of work i can purse would require me to take a 22 dollar per hr pay cut, and thats if i could even find a job. Nobody hiring in NB. If the recession this country is experiencing gets any worse the maritimes are gonna feel it the most.

It was the government, not people moving, that ruined your living situation.

I bought my home for $100 last year. This year, similar homes are going for $400k. It’s ridiculous
