Feets / Collection / My build New exempted pistol has arrived! (BC)

Super excited that my first exempted pistol has finally arrived after ordering it beginning of June.

Shoutout to BCTSA, IRUNGUNS, and funny enough, the Federal Firearms office in Miramichi NB, for helping make the process as seamless as can be (in our current firearms climate).

Feel free to ask any questions on the process and I’ll do my best to reply/DM. :)

Edit: everyone that’s requested a DM, I will absolutely get to all of you later tonight or tomorrow! :)

I got an mk4 lite but knew a guy who was wanting to sell, came with 5 mags and a sweet red dot... I shoot at a club with an Olympic level coach and got my first letter from BCTS. I also emailed the CFO office and everything went quicker and smoother than I expected.

What I'm curious about is the import process if you buy something and need to import it. I know how to get an exemption, just wondering how the import process worked for you and where you bought, and what you had to choose from... I think I know enough people to acquire several practice pistols and an actual Olympic level pistol but still want to know if and how importing works. Cheers

Import process was fairly smooth actually. If you use irunguns, you can import any handgun off of their “USA” site, as long as a lady there named Carolyn gets your exemption letter for whatever handgun(s) you’re adding to cart, and as long as the pistol itself isn’t prohibited (like a snubby). And their website is packed to the gills with eligible pistols. After you choose your pistol and forward your relevant exemption to Carolyn, it’s pretty much just a waiting game. They handled getting it into the country, zero hangup, they handled the import paperwork, zero hangup, and the second it was in Canada they shipped it from their Alberta warehouse to here in BC.

The only hangup was Canada post losing the package. Phoned them, told them it was firearms related and I’d have to make a police case if they didn’t find it, and they found it at 1am haha. It was here two days later.

Which range has an Olympic level coach if I may ask? I’m only inquiring as calibers higher than .22 can be considered for exemption with a coach sign off so I was interested in learning more about that

Thanks for the info. I'm in Kelowna. I'm not sure what all his disciplines are, but 25m is one of them. I'm just getting started 🙂

Nice! 25m you don’t even need to compete initially in in BC, just apply under wishing to train for it is sufficient

Have to start somewhere! I've had my exemption a while, I didn't know on timelines, so I planned early and in August I budgeted for the pistol. It's coming with a halosun red dot and 5 mags so I'm happy. I've actually shot it so I know I like it.

It's a lite model with the blue and gold accents. The guy I'm getting it from calls it his water gun 😂😂 🔫
