IPSC Canada has jumped on board with the CCFR as well in this fight.
We all know the current government couldn’t care less about this, as they’re doing nothing more than implementing vibe based policy to appease a small and loud group of people.
However, in a courtroom, where evidence should rightfully carry more weight than feelings, I see this as a significant move in the right direction.
With 5000+ active members competing in everything from local club matches all the way to World Shoot, this will reinforce that the firearms in question do in fact have legitimate sporting purposes, directly countering what had been a cornerstone of the justification for the bans.
Whether we come out on top of this or not remains to be seen, but in the meanwhile have fun, be safe, and go join your local club/IPSC section and get out and compete.
Don’t be intimidated to try it, I suck and I still have a great time.
I sure hope so.
Realistically, this is the most opportune off ramp for the government to get away from the whole fiasco without ever having to admit it was terrible policy from the start.
THIS is the golden ticket in my opinion - they know it is unpopular, even with non gun owners, and its expensive - they can walk away and say they tried
