Misc American here with a few questions
I'm not trying to gloat or anything like that, just genuinely curious about Canadians and how they're feeling about guns, gun rights, and gun purchases. You guys were clearly given the shaft when it comes to guns.
Question 1: I see a lot of comments here passing up on $900 SKS's or Carmel's because they're a ripoff. Why not spend a little extra to get your hands on a semi-automatic rifle since the vast majority of them are banned? I feel like I would if I were in your shoes. 22's are just cope imo.
Question 2: how sacred are guns to the average user here?
Question 3: how is morale? Do you guys have hope for the future? If a conservative PM wins, do you think he'll unban a lot of shit?

SKS is usually picked because of its cheap ammo. You used to be able to get an sks for $200 and a crate of 1100 rounds for like $300. The ammo is still cheap, rifle not so much, there also isn’t many options that are non restricted and that cheap.
Sacred? Idk, when I had to abandon my house once for a flood. I grabbed my computer and my guns. Take that how you will. They are just possessions, if you take the time to get a license generally you are going to appreciate and value them
We can only hope the Supreme Court kills the OIC bans, but we would need a conservative government to repeal the handgun freeze.
Even if the cpc wins, they might not repeal it, who knows. The last election should have been a win but in my opinion trump lost it for him. Canadians wanted to avoid being American at all costs.
Our public safety minister who is heading up the ban openly admitted on a hidden recording that it’s a sham to buy votes among other things. Then he turns to the cameras after and still pushes for it. I’m not holding my breath sadly.
