Misc American here with a few questions

I'm not trying to gloat or anything like that, just genuinely curious about Canadians and how they're feeling about guns, gun rights, and gun purchases. You guys were clearly given the shaft when it comes to guns.

Question 1: I see a lot of comments here passing up on $900 SKS's or Carmel's because they're a ripoff. Why not spend a little extra to get your hands on a semi-automatic rifle since the vast majority of them are banned? I feel like I would if I were in your shoes. 22's are just cope imo.

Question 2: how sacred are guns to the average user here?

Question 3: how is morale? Do you guys have hope for the future? If a conservative PM wins, do you think he'll unban a lot of shit?

My take. Guns are tools for hunting and can also be used for target practice. No need for (semi)automatic weapons unless you're military or police. I think the buyback program is a waste of money, but think that all guns should be registered. Can't get a handgun, but don't even want one. Again, just my take - I just scroll on past posts complaining about the restrictions and how government is taking rights away. I am quite fond of my guns, but, they're not sacred in the spiritual or identity sense. My possession of and use of guns doesn't define me or drive my voting interests.

No quams about needing to get a PAL/RPAL as the approvals process was slow, but they sent it out quick when I checked in on its status.

Wish there were more places to shoot, or places with day passes, but thats fine, I've got plenty of places to shoot, just need to drive further.

On your 22's are just cope dig - I don't get why anyone in this community would ever shame someone for shooting a smaller caliber. Still need to secure the same approvals, have the same level of competence and situational awareness and even passion for shooting/hunting/ownership, etc.

So the government can confiscate them later? Registration is just delayed confiscation. Your attitude is why Canadian firearm owners are facing bans and increasing restrictions.

Canadians would have more place to shoot if firearm owners weren't out wishing for more restrictions like registration and ignoring the complaints about increasing restrictions. If you made your possession of firearms a voting interest maybe you would have more places to shoot.
