Misc American here with a few questions

I'm not trying to gloat or anything like that, just genuinely curious about Canadians and how they're feeling about guns, gun rights, and gun purchases. You guys were clearly given the shaft when it comes to guns.

Question 1: I see a lot of comments here passing up on $900 SKS's or Carmel's because they're a ripoff. Why not spend a little extra to get your hands on a semi-automatic rifle since the vast majority of them are banned? I feel like I would if I were in your shoes. 22's are just cope imo.

Question 2: how sacred are guns to the average user here?

Question 3: how is morale? Do you guys have hope for the future? If a conservative PM wins, do you think he'll unban a lot of shit?

I'm probably going to get some flak.

I didn't make guns part of my identity. So, I don't really care either way and I have some expensive guns.

20 years ago, the current government would have been considered Conservative. The political spectrum has shifted so far to the right it would make old leaders cringe. The current iteration of the Conservative party is in such a mess. The reform conservatives are the crazy ones and they're currently driving the bus. I lean progressive conservative and it's shocking the things that's coming out of the CPC.

The crazies were the ones flying Canada flags around during covid and now want nothing to do with Canada since the 51st state thing came up.

Well at least you got to enjoy your hobby before voting it away for future generations. That's basically what you're admitting, after all. You're excusing voting for the people disarming you by pitching the alternative as extremist.

Oh, and the COVID restrictions: how dare law-abiding citizens want to continue with their daily commerce despite the spread of a mild respiratory infection.

You're really a sacred patriot of your people, aren't you?

You're making assumptions. I didn't mention who I voted for. I did mention which way I lean politically. It's people who default to this that makes me question my decisions.
