TM22 Issues

So, I will say it’s gotten “better” after putting about 350 rounds but my current issues are:

Not so much failure to eject but failure to chamber a round/cycle a round. - I’ve found loading 8/9 rounds per magazine instead of 10 makes a huge difference however I still get these squibs? No bullet stuck in the barrel but it just explodes in the chamber.

The Tommy enterprise Mag sleeves were a bit of an issue, they don’t quite seat properly without a love tap and yes they are the proper fitment and secured tightly. The current video attached actually broke the mag sleeve.

I’ll post a photo in a comment below showing what’s happening to the shells when it just jams them rather than propels chambering the round. No idea if it’s just the ammo (Aguila interceptor) or if it’s too high of spring tension on the magazine or if I have an actual issue with the action.

I've had a tm22 for a while, I only buy cci blazers, i've run subsonics out of it (only like 20-30 rounds) without issue. I get a malfunction of some sort maybe once every 300 rounds. I started with Winchester white box and that shit was god awful. I havent cleaned my rifle in over a thousand rounds now lmao.

I like MY tm-22 but seeing shit like this makes me feel like i got lucky af lmao. To be fair my buddies 10/22 malfunctions just about as much as mine.

I have put about 5000 rounds through mine now and have found the more I shoot it the less misfeed issues I’ve had. It was literally 10/100 at first unless I didn’t fully load mags. Left my mags loaded with whatever extra I could jam in for a couple weeks and they seem to be better.

Only misfeed issues I have seem to be with federal and Winchester bulk packs now, or if I shoot subs too fast. If I don’t mag dump them the cycle fine, except the quiet segmented which is to be expected at only 750fps. But they are super quiet, and my favourite In my bolt actions. Literally hear the firing pin strike and the bullet hit.

Yeah honestly all of what you said tracks with my experience with the rifle. I dont pay attention and most times over load my mags. 11 in a 10 rounder, 16 in a 15 rounder. If it fits, it gets it. I have had failure to feed a handful of times in my time owning it, a light strike here and there that sorts itself on the second go around.

All in all id say rifle is fine for what it is, and what it can do.

I've noticed my feed ramp will gouge a teeny bit into my bullets almost consistently but its only a 1-2" differentiation over 50m which to me is acceptable for a .22lr semi.

Im not out here trying to put a .22 in open air range twice in the same hole, I tend to look if its close enough to the kill shot id be chasing on small game if I would ever use it for hunting, which it is more than capable of within 50m

I tend to hunt with my bolt actions, bought my TM22 as a range gun mainly to fill childish need for a tactical plinker. Something cheap to shoot and more that 10 round so I’m not reloading mags as much. Even still I’ll probably let my boy use my bolt action this year and I’ll take the TM22 out for grouse and rabbits.

I’ve been taking the odd squirrel with it all spring mainly for fly tying too. But been saving the meat for some tree chicken buffalo wings in deer camp this fall.

It’s definitely good for what it’s for when you take its limitations into account. The only thing mine annoys me with is the top rail screws loosening up after 600-700 rounds. Drives me crazy when I don’t notice and can’t hit anything accurately with my scope bouncing around. But that’s my own fault not paying attention. Going to throw some locktite in them when I get to cleaning it tomorrow.
