Recurring Canadaguns Politics and Debate Thread

Please post all your Gun Politics or Ban-related ideas, questions, initiatives, comments, suggestions, news articles, and recommendations in this thread. This thread recurs every 14 days.

First and foremost, this is a Canadian Gun subreddit, so keep it at least decently related to both of those things.

This thread is not for general politics, there are plenty other subs that are meant for that. Off-topic threads may be removed, especially if they are leading to personal attacks, flame wars, etc.

To prevent the main sub being flooded with dozens of similar threads, text posts complaining about/asking about/chatting about gun politics will be sent here.

We understand that politics is a touchy subject, and at times things can get heated. A reminder of the subreddit rules, when commenting, where subreddit users are expected to abide.

Keep this Canadian gun politics related and polite. Off-topic stuff, flame wars, negative generalizations against groups, personal attacks and gate-keeping will be removed. Please flag any comments to bring to the attention of mods otherwise exercise your upvoting and downvoting ability.

"Just gang violence, nothing to see here... Okay, fine, maybe banning legal bolt action rifles, from licensed legal owners will solve downtown gangsters without a license, shooting each other with prohib sub-compact pistols with over capacity clipszines and auto-switches in them" - Liberals.

Always the case, why caribana has tactical teams on standby every year, gang members love to show up to these events and they’re always carrying, bump into a rival and they go wild.

Weird though….lpc have banned gun for 6 years straight and we’re still getting shootings???

Someone give Gary and his cheeks another 2 billion to solve this by harassing law abiding gun owners!!

Legal "Patrol carbine" in the hands of Officer Dave in uniform, but becomes a scary illegal "assault-rifle" in the hands of Officer Dave in civilian clothes...

The forefront guy looks big, yet that stock being at the shortest position seems so uncomfortable. Then there is the officer in the back, stock fully extended, but he looks like he's got short arms. Did they swap rifles?

Sorry random observation.

More likely to do the fact that they probably receive only 30 minutes of carbine training every year, so they're pretty ignorant in making the appropriate adjustments so that way they can shoulder it properly, if they need to use their carbine.

Yeah appears to be at a street festival.

This has been a feature of life in Toronto for some years now under the Liberals.

A few years ago there was one day light shooting. These animals saw each other on the street and literally couldn’t help themselves but start shooting at each other with zero regard for the fact there was a little girl and her mom between them. I’m sure they’ve already been released from prison, reoffended, been re-released 20 times since then.

But you know, it’s tax paying men that look like me who are the cause of all the issues.

They do this on purpose btw.

They know most people don’t read past the headline. So this furthers the perception they are trying to create that there are murderous white right wing radicals everywhere victimizing minorities that the Liberals need to take away our freedoms(what little we have left) to deal with

It's a Latin street festival. Toronto sub says gang shootings are a regular occurrence

🤷🏻‍♂️. This country doesn’t want to go after the actual problems, so, fuck em. Let people keep getting shot

Yup, the existence of such crimes are always a byproduct of failing socio-economic factors. I could get into what is causing it but that is quite a long story.

But most importantly will the government focus on the root causes? HELL NO

Hell it's not even that difficult to look at the geni index is almost a one to one when it comes to crime last I checked but somehow they'll claim it's the number of guns. But if that was the case why is the nation with the most gun crime per capita Jamacia last I checked a nation that has far from the most guns per capita.

Amen to that. All out of fucks to give when bad things happen in liberal ridings.
