What’s going on with Gunpost prices?

What makes people post their used guns for above new prices? I’m looking for a 10/22 brand new they’re about $419.99 in my area, but every post I’m seeing is like $500-$1000. Why would anyone pay more for a used gun? I’m not even talking about modified ones, or optics or anything. Just a standard wood stocked ruger 10/22 for like $800.

Stuff that I want to sell, I post low-ish, and they usually move pretty fast. Stuff that I dont really want to sell but might be persuaded to, I'll post at higher prices. They still move, eventually. But in both cases, I pick 'reasonable' pricing, none of this 'more than Basspro is asking for the same thing, brand new, on the shelf right now'
