Gun and gear reviews What’s going on with Gunpost prices?

What makes people post their used guns for above new prices? I’m looking for a 10/22 brand new they’re about $419.99 in my area, but every post I’m seeing is like $500-$1000. Why would anyone pay more for a used gun? I’m not even talking about modified ones, or optics or anything. Just a standard wood stocked ruger 10/22 for like $800.

I have nothing to support this, but my theory is that people are buying them at the inflated prices to avoid having any paper trail that shows they made the purchase. They're willing to pay a premium if it avoids a gun store having the transaction on record if the government decides to continue to expand the bans in the future.

You are naive if you dont think the RCMP doesnt have access to gunpost PM's and account info. They know exactly who has what and whos sold what. Even if they arent legally allowed to they are doing it anyways. If they need to use it as proof for a case they will just get a warrant to cover their tracks lol. If i can go back and see msgs from 5 years ago so can they lol

The RCMP doesn't have access to gunposts private messages, the site owner is a member of the Canadian firearms community and isn't just giving up that information to them. It would also be super illegal for them to track private messages between individual owners. The RCMP dosent even have resources to deal with real criminals, they aren't monitoring gunpost 24/7. I've seen many ads that are straight up illegal and they ended up getting marked as sold with zero consequences for the seller.

While id love to believe that the owner of the site would tell the police to go fuck themselves thats not how it works. Wait till bill c22 becomes law. If he was smart he would have PM's auto delete every 30 days. At some point they are going to start coming for everybody whos got the prohibs. Every time some lunatic shoots up a school or public area there will be more political pressure and they are coming for the sks next

I don't know about illegal. RCMP shows up with a warrant, what's the owner gonna do?
