Gun and gear reviews What’s going on with Gunpost prices?

What makes people post their used guns for above new prices? I’m looking for a 10/22 brand new they’re about $419.99 in my area, but every post I’m seeing is like $500-$1000. Why would anyone pay more for a used gun? I’m not even talking about modified ones, or optics or anything. Just a standard wood stocked ruger 10/22 for like $800.

Lots of folks dont search for the best price. They just go to an easy store close to them and likely pay jacked up prices. When its time to sell? Maybe they paid 600 for the 10/22, and think charging 500 is fair, when in reality, there are new ones now for 420.

Maybe that's the case. Of course there is also the possibility they are trying to rip off someone who doesn't know better. Either way, I ignore them. Definitely don't but from them.
