Misc Gun cabinet for the poors

Finally finished my makeshift Amazon only gun locker for my apartment. It’s obviously not built to keep a determined person or a fire out but it keeps me legal. Total cost was $320.

Here's what I built from an ikea billy bookcase, similar idea.

Doesn't the ammo need to be separate? Or is it okay because they are both locked up?

Assuming (a) and (b) are true.

The (c) clause is weirdly complex as it explains two scenarios in one sentence

5 (1) An individual may store a non-restricted firearm only if

(a) it is unloaded;

(b) it is

(i) rendered inoperable by means of a secure locking device,

(ii) rendered inoperable by the removal of the bolt or bolt-carrier, or

(iii) stored in a container, receptacle or room that is kept securely locked and that is constructed so that it cannot readily be broken open or into; and

(c)it is not readily accessible to ammunition, unless the ammunition is stored, together with or separately from the firearm, in a container or receptacle that is kept securely locked and that is constructed so that it cannot readily be broken open or into.

Scenario one: The non-restricted firearm must not be readily accessible to ammunition. Except if the ammunition is stored together with the firearm in a container that is locked and can't be broken into. Which is okay if you followed 5(1)(b)(iii)

(c) it is not readily accessible to ammunition, unless the ammunition is stored, together with or separately from the firearm, in a container or receptacle that is kept securely locked and that is constructed so that it cannot readily be broken open or into.

Scenario two: The non-restricted firearm must not be readily accessible to ammunition. Except if the ammunition is stored separately from the firearm in a container that is locked and can't be broken into

Basically the only illegal way to store a non-restricted firearm with ammo, is if you trigger lock the firearm (i), or remove the bolt (ii) and leave ammo next or "readily accessible" to the firearm.

Locking a firearm up in a container satisfies clause (c) entirely, except for the explosives act which basically states you can't leave ammo lying around willy nilly.
