News / Politics / Activism "Get it before it's banned!"

Ever since the bans started coming down 6 years ago, people were saying "buy so and before it's banned", as they (correctly) speculated that May 2020 was just the first step of many, and progressively the most scary unbanned gun would get added to the list until none are left.

What's the point though?

I don't understand the idea of buying a gun while you still can (currently the SKS), just to get ahead of the ban, use it for a while, then be stuck with it. Seems like you're paying an inflated price, to enjoy it for maybe a year, but then be stuck with it.

Although I don't have any, my friends have some of the banned rifles and they've just become white elephants. Can't do anything with them, tying up capital, can't sell, can't use, but, still have to store and have all the legal downside in case anything goes wrong.

So what's the logic of trying to buy something ahead of it being banned? Either it gets banned and you can never use it, or it doesn't and there's no issue picking it up in the future.

Bro I’m fucking American it’s our religion , damn right we buy them to protect ourselves here. What else would I be using them for?

Classic american. You are the only country in the world with gun rights baked into your constitution, and you have the most shootings...

There are plenty of healthy nations to take examples from that arnt your dumpster fire of a constitution. (Example: switzerland, Austria, the Czech Republic, etc.)

Also, where do you think the Americans got the idea? We used to be the same country. Have you never heard of the 1689 Bill of Rights? Why do you think Charles I lost his head and his second son James II was deposed?

Constitutionally still not the same as the US in practice. But you must be over the moon ChatGPT exsist to make you feel smarter.

You are the same guy that opens the criminal code read a section and doesnt read further to the annotation to know how that law is used in practice.
