Last time I checked you need a PAL to obtain a firearm legally, but I don't think you need any license to buy a knife or an axe.

There have been mass stabbing atks in Canada in the last decade, so perhaps we should close the loop hole on knife as well, and only let police, chefs, and butcher handling them?
