There's no loophole. It just hasn't been banned. That makes it sound like you have to Pat your head and rub your belly and get a rifle like fuck

They are constantly pushing this false narrative that new SKS rifles are being designed and built

That’s just intentional ignorance about firearms.

I think to them the SKS is a “loophole” because the government promised them that all “assault style weapons” would be banned and yet it’s still here.

Yeah if 5 people were killed with a pinned mag SKS they might have had somewhat of an argument, the same amount of damage in this incident could have been caused by a single shot break action rifle or shotgun.

While I think this event is a tragedy no matter what, I honestly think he likely would have done far more damage if the attack was done with a vehicle, like the ramming attack in Vancouver a couple years back that killed 11 or 12 people. Vehicles are far more deadly in Canada than firearms are (not advocating for vehicle bans dont worry,  just making ghe point that we all know already!)

Even the amount of rounds fired in the incident doesn't make sense unless we factor in the the police mag dumping.

Or a knife. Or a hammer. Or a brick. Or a lamp. Or a paperweight.

Poly reaching hard on this one.

Ian McCollum from Forgotten Weapons made a video on this. He talks about new variants of the SKS being designed in Canada to make it function the same as an AR-15. In Ian's words, he specifically calls the SKS a loophole gun in Canada. Ian McCollum is a well known and highly respected weapons expert. So when he says that Canada has a SKS loophole, I believe him.
