Meanwhile 2000 people per year die in automotive accidents in Canada and 88,000 die from cancer.

It's not about making people's lives better, it's about irrational fear and making themselves the main character and being the "hero" because they don't have the skillset to cure cancer.

Causes of deaths in canada:

1 cancer ~80,000

2 heart disease ~60,000

3 malpractice and medical mistakes ~28,000

4 dementia ~27,500

5 waiting for healthcare ~23,700

6 accidents ~23,400

7 stroke ~13,800

8 Lower Respiratory diseases ~13,000

9 Influenza & pneumonia ~7500

10 diabetes ~7000

Firearm deaths not counting suicide ~250-290 annually. Of these deaths only about 22-26 were legally owned firearms. ( Annual averages, rcmp data doesn't differentiate between murder and self defense. )

That makes doctors and the decaying health system responsible for 86,000% more deaths than a legally owned firearm. Just saying.

As a person who pays into a National Health Service, good? I don't see why I should subsidize health care for someone who chooses reckless behavior. "Oh, you smoked, rode a motorcycle and didn't sign up for the organ donor list? Back of the line, please."

Stats don't matter. Legitimately, they do not matter.

What matters is how loud you are, and how much your opinions align with likelihood of the current politicians being re-elected.

It would be a lot cooler if my tax dollars went to #3 and #5 instead of Poly.

I actually asked my overworked, under paid, hardly funded local doctor if the cost of the gun grab would make a difference to the problems he experiences within the medical system and he said "yeah... a lot."

Let’s also realize that no civilians were killed. I’m not trying to undermine the death of the police officer or that fact what he did was wrong. But our gun laws in a way worked. Was killed while having to reload (5 round cap). Could have been a lot worse. There’s been killings of civilians since the shooting with illegal firearms
