Albertan Seth Hatfield, 25, identified as suspect in Montreal shooting

"The alleged gunman who killed a Montreal police officer during a shooting in Côte-des-Neiges Monday has been identified as Seth Scott Hatfield, 25, of Lethbridge, Alberta.

His name was released Tuesday by Quebec’s coroner, which also identified the two other people killed in the attack: Mohamed Lamine Benredouane, 34, a Montreal police officer, and Michel (Michael) Mizrahi, 68, a bystander caught in the crossfire."

Hopefully there will be a thorough investigation here.

What’s actually crazy wild, this guy straight up fits the redacted RCMP report a few years back about the future of canada and that “once the youth realize they have no future, it will lead to violence”

Dude is straight up anti society, this is it, the youth collapse. Will be interesting how our LPC overlords spin this tragedy

Lots of angry young people right now. I’m not surprised some are taking to violence. I’m fairly young and in my peer group people are struggling hard right now. They blame the government for what’s happening, although I will note some of their issues are purely related to poor choices.

I am very interested to see what the LPC says, or will it be buried?

Or misdirected, the LPC never let a good tragedy go to waste

Well they buried tumbler ridge pretty quick. I wouldn’t be surprised given this asshole is a leftist extremist that it will be buried too.

They're already trying to paint him as far right. The only time I hear the term "incel" used is as a reference to far right.

His views were actually extreme left/communist revolutionary. I heard some parts of the manifesto today, he was definitely not far right, sort of a weird communist with some right wing sprinkled in, but mostly just communist misogynist.

But, the media will do their best to paint this as far right extremism, when the guy literally talked about wanting to take down capitalism and start a revolution.

But yeah, it may just be memory holed immediately like the whole tumbler ridge thing. It's amazing how quickly that disappeared. Politicians used it to score a few sympathy points and then fucked off and forgot about the whole thing. Pretty disgraceful of them, they all needed their photo ops visiting the town.
