They’re legit morons and clowns, 10 years, 4 bans, 2 billion dollars spent and yet we still have shootings. They know they just want to end all civilian ownership and skip straight to authoritarianism. Simple as that.

Fucking clowns 🤡

Why does it always need to be the federal government? Why can't Quebec just have it's own gun laws? Why do they have to make the rest of us suffer their shitty regulations?

That's a legit question. I'm under the impression the real answer is that the power to regulate things starts all with the feds. Then they offload some of the power to the province (who then offload some to municipalities). The feds haven't offloaded the ability to regulate guns to the province, so for the most part they can't.

I'm glad they hadn't though. You'd get a patchwork of laws. Some provinces would pretty much outlaw guns,. Then qc and bc would still scream that the laws in other provinces are too lenient, guns are coming in from other provinces and ask the feds to act. It would act as a divide and conquer technique.

Patchwork laws might be better than the current laws though

You're half right. Firearm regulations begin at the Federal Level, however (if I recall correctly) Provinces can add additional regulations to Firearms such as additional Licensing Requirements. So I don't think it would be a stretch for Quebec to Prohibit civilians in large cities from Possessing Firearms. I don't understand why they feel entitled to impose their beliefs on the rest of the Provinces.

If you ask a control enthusiast they'll likely tell you we need licensing and background checks for owners, laws to restrict magazine capacity, ways to report people who are dangerous or illegally own guns. And the only way to implement these measures is to ban (more) firearms.

And yet they themselves have armed bodyguards.

Why would they want to leave when they can do anything they want and get bailed out by other provinces. Quebec basically get's to be a country with none of the risk.
