You’re not the one under fire btw. Must be easy for you to sit in the comfort of your chair and talk about what she should have done. But in her shoes she was unable to see the shooter and she saw someone when she turned around, if she waited and double check she would have been killed just like the first one.

Again I received military training, they shot at us with training bullets and one time by accident with real bullets (hell of a moment that was).

The purpose of training is that when shit gets real, we know how to act and not make the ultimate mistake. You can’t say to people “well you never got shot at so don’t speak” because in training we can’t actually shoot at each other, so all you can do is train and train and train until it finally happens (which we often pray it never does). This officer failed her training and should be charged accordingly.

Received “military training” doesn’t mean a thing. My time in the Canadian army taught me that 80% of the troops aren’t trustworthy with a firearm even after “training”, and don’t even get me started on how effective these training is with them blanks. Half of the troops can’t even shoot straight in their PWT1. I’m not saying she should have shot that dude, but given the circumstances it was a mistake, but training won’t let you overcome your fear of knowing you might die if you don’t kill the shooter first.

Sure. You’re only saying this because it was the civi that got shot, if the shooter snuck up on her like the civi and she waited because of her “training”, then she would have been dead. And let me guess, if that were the case, you again would be out there saying “training would help her to shoot on the instinct and she would still be alive”. How your military training would help.

I have no idea what point you’re making and what you just said was insane dude, you don’t kill someone’s because they snuck up on you, doesn’t matter the circumstances. Killing an unarmed civilian in an active shooter scenario is the opposite of they are supposed to do. I hope she is charged accordingly

If the world is just full of flawless machines like you then no one would be making mistakes. Go ask your troops in the unit who actually have experience overseas and hear just how many blue on blue incidents there were. I’ve been personally shot by my own section with blanks because I decided to flank around without telling them, and when I popped out of the tree line 3 of them shot at me. I was pre BMQ so I was clueless. But even then I blamed myself for walking in front of my section and not them shooting at me before seeing who it was. Call me insane all you want but let’s see if she’s charged and she’d be sentenced.

She will likely be charged as I believe that is procedure in officer involved shootings; however, I doubt she would actually get convicted.

Its an accountability thing to show people that they arent avoiding charging the officer for no reason. Even when they know the officer has a defence and a jury would likely not find them guilty.
