My comments: Glad the shooter was taken out quickly, but watching a huge amount of videos outside of Reddit (the website in question for a fun fact, is actually an exiled subreddit that used to be on here), that this seems like a Justin Bourque type shooting. If you watch the videos, there was many points he came across random civilians and didn't go after them. He only went after cops.

Also to note, and this is a major L and in my opinion, reflects the absolute sheer Insanity of the handgun "freeze", but one of the SPVMs officers hiding behind cover shot a civilian that had walked up to her wondering what the hell is going on, and it was unequivocally caught on video of the officer just shooting a civilian point blank with her service pistol... The civilian died...

I'm sure the cop is feeling absolute horrid deep regret and is traumatized for not taking just a second longer to identify if this person is a threat just after seeing their colleague killed not even 30 seconds before, but none the less, situational awareness training as well as effective firearm use is clearly not something that's emphasized within the SPVM.

Most cops look like they only receive firearm training like once a year and it's maybe like less than 100 rounds and it's pretty evident based on the amount of Exchange between the gunman and the officers on how poorly equipped they are. This handgun "freeze" is making our LEO brothers and sisters ineffective in responding to rare events like this where situational awareness and precision is absolutely needed when there's no "takesies-backsies", such as killing an innocent civilian... Also, I'm dumbfounded that AR-15s (or patrol carbines), are not standard equipment in every police vehicle. Where I am in Ottawa, Ottawa Police are standardly equipped with AR-15s in most Patrol Vehicles except for like Traffic Unit crusiers, where they can quickly and effectively respond to incidents like this where you do not want to have a situation of a handgun versus rifle fight.

Well the police Watchdog will certainly be looking over this whole entire event that played out. Personally I think given the totality of circumstances she will be found responsible for the death but not in a way that would see her removed or charged
