Recurring Canadaguns Politics and Debate Thread

Please post all your Gun Politics or Ban-related ideas, questions, initiatives, comments, suggestions, news articles, and recommendations in this thread. This thread recurs every 14 days.

First and foremost, this is a Canadian Gun subreddit, so keep it at least decently related to both of those things.

This thread is not for general politics, there are plenty other subs that are meant for that. Off-topic threads may be removed, especially if they are leading to personal attacks, flame wars, etc.

To prevent the main sub being flooded with dozens of similar threads, text posts complaining about/asking about/chatting about gun politics will be sent here.

We understand that politics is a touchy subject, and at times things can get heated. A reminder of the subreddit rules, when commenting, where subreddit users are expected to abide.

Keep this Canadian gun politics related and polite. Off-topic stuff, flame wars, negative generalizations against groups, personal attacks and gate-keeping will be removed. Please flag any comments to bring to the attention of mods otherwise exercise your upvoting and downvoting ability.

Makes it easier for the emergencies act to be invoked over some BS and then MRes gets deployed into non ruling party provinces and areas.

Watch, if theres nothing to fear monger for 2029's election and guarantee another 40 years in office (lets be real, saying a con govt is only a matter of time is pure copium), they might just decide why bother with one? After all, they have already tested and got away with backroom dealing into 4 years while ignoring the results of an election. All to operate with a mandate they were not given by the people. They will 1000% do it again if need be.

And before someone says that they have to call an election, I ask you, who would genuinely stand up against such a move? Sure it can be written that they have to. But lets say they dont. Who holds them to account? The governor general? The population? The CAF? The Mounties? Not a chance in hell on any of those. A weak country populated by weak people.

Guarantee you the elbows up crowd would applaud not having an election again if it meant keeping jesus, i mean carney, in office forever. Afterall, he has such a strong hand on the chess board and whispers the sweetest nothings into my ear at bed time. Why wouldn't we want that forever?

I feel like this country has completed its descent into total madness and will stay firmly at the bottom of that abyss. Even the CPC carry on like it’s business as usual as utter lunacy runs rampant through all our major institutions. Canada is irrevocably fucked.

The only thing we would get from the CPC is maybe our guns back. That’s it. That’s the only thing. Everything else they would be at the same levels of the liberals for. Just a different flavour of shit.

That would still be one or twenty things more than I have now depending on units banned vs the whole.

Either way though, it really only matters to people foolish enough to vote, assuming they get that option in 29. My days of voting are done as its a pointless waste of time.
