Recurring Canadaguns Politics and Debate Thread

Please post all your Gun Politics or Ban-related ideas, questions, initiatives, comments, suggestions, news articles, and recommendations in this thread. This thread recurs every 14 days.

First and foremost, this is a Canadian Gun subreddit, so keep it at least decently related to both of those things.

This thread is not for general politics, there are plenty other subs that are meant for that. Off-topic threads may be removed, especially if they are leading to personal attacks, flame wars, etc.

To prevent the main sub being flooded with dozens of similar threads, text posts complaining about/asking about/chatting about gun politics will be sent here.

We understand that politics is a touchy subject, and at times things can get heated. A reminder of the subreddit rules, when commenting, where subreddit users are expected to abide.

Keep this Canadian gun politics related and polite. Off-topic stuff, flame wars, negative generalizations against groups, personal attacks and gate-keeping will be removed. Please flag any comments to bring to the attention of mods otherwise exercise your upvoting and downvoting ability.

Anyone else seeing the bullshit "Getting Ahead" government propaganda ad constantly on TV? I wonder how many of our tax dollars are being spent to play it literally non stop on TV.

It's just another one of the LPCs propaganda ads about how they're "helping you get ahead by cutting taxes, removing fuel surcharges, and investing in.... stuff!"

When im in bed watching tv I literally sometimes see it play 5 or 6 times in 2 hours. It's literally just the LPC using government funds to make party propaganda about how great they are for blessing us with tiny little token actions, and yet we probably paid millions to make the ad, and millions more to blast it on cable 20 times a day. (Yes, I still watch cable TV).

It actually makes me mad to see. If they were actually doing anything helpful or meaningful, they wouldn't need to run 20 ads a day telling us how great they are. It's straight up LPC propaganda.

Not to mention the bullshit "we're building canada strong!" Ads they ran for months before this one.

These ads are meant to be GOVERNMENT ads, to my knowledge, LPC is not supposed to be using public PSAs as party ads basically, because they're using public money to run them not party funds, yet the ads are FILLED with LPC slogans.

The liberals genuinely have rigged the system so much, and bent all the rules to make it incredibly hard for any other party to ever win again. They have billions of dollars available to pump out LPC propaganda 24/7 now.

Even under Trudeau at least the Government of Canada TV ads had some degree of professionalism and didn't feel like straight party propaganda. These ads almost felt like something the CCP would play on TV for their citizens, or the USSR, telling their citizens how great their dear leader is.

Have you seen how the Global is trying to frame the Montreal shooting incident?

Montreal shooting suspect manifesto aligns with incel movement, experts say

The entire comment section basically calls out on the Global because that not what the suspect described in his manifesto

I find it funny how private media keeps comment sections open but our government funded one the one we are all forced to pay for keeps it closed for pretty much everything they post.

Some Global and CTV comment section are surprisingly still open for comment. The one I notice turned off mostly from CBC.

Yep the one we're forced to pay for. The one you'd think should always have the comments open on.
