Everybody’s got jokes but I’ll give you the real answer. The people that use these types of weapons chop them up this way so that they can keep them concealed until they’re close enough to reach out and touch their target. At the close proximities a hack job like this is meant to be used it’s more of a lethal punch than a ranged weapon so it doesn’t need to be aimed.

And this isn't even the most hacky hack job we've seen on the news. You barely need a barrel at 2 feet.
