I remember when Sick Kids released a study on firearms injuries and the news media actually ran with a bunch of headlines similar to: "A child is injured by a firearm every day in Ontario" or something.

That sounded so obviously ridiculous I had to dig into the study, to figure out how they classified "firearm injuries". The way that I remember it, airsoft, pellet guns, Nerf guns and lawn dart injuries were all classified as "firearms injuries". So, if a five years old got their eye grazed by a projectile while playing with Nerf toys, it was logged as "firearms injury". I wish I were joking but it was very literally that stupid and the media ran with it. Not one of the "journalists" involved ever dug into it to see what was actually going on. It was a joke
