The key distinction is their stats are actually BS and not rooted in reality in any way.

They have created a framework which gives them the narrative they wish. Nothing more. There is nothing truly informative about their information. It is carefully crafted prose and propaganda. The collection and recording of the info nationwide has no set of universal standards for law enforcement to follow and the framework in which it is entered into projects the narrative they wish to portray. This is why StatsCan has to run a disclaimer on their web pages for firearms data. It is wholly unreliable.
