Recurring Canadaguns Politics and Debate Thread

Please post all your Gun Politics or Ban-related ideas, questions, initiatives, comments, suggestions, news articles, and recommendations in this thread. This thread recurs every 14 days.

First and foremost, this is a Canadian Gun subreddit, so keep it at least decently related to both of those things.

This thread is not for general politics, there are plenty other subs that are meant for that. Off-topic threads may be removed, especially if they are leading to personal attacks, flame wars, etc.

To prevent the main sub being flooded with dozens of similar threads, text posts complaining about/asking about/chatting about gun politics will be sent here.

We understand that politics is a touchy subject, and at times things can get heated. A reminder of the subreddit rules, when commenting, where subreddit users are expected to abide.

Keep this Canadian gun politics related and polite. Off-topic stuff, flame wars, negative generalizations against groups, personal attacks and gate-keeping will be removed. Please flag any comments to bring to the attention of mods otherwise exercise your upvoting and downvoting ability.

The goal? The point?

To not lick the boot on your own neck. To not financially support a company tied to the same confiscation system you claim to oppose.

The goal is the act.

Exhibit F: “What’s the goal of not participating in the buyback?” Same cope.

Refusing payment from the LPC was/is never going to reverse the OICs, stop future bans, or stop the confiscation. I hope you werent thinking that was the case lol. The delay was a best case scenario caused mainly by the court challenge. Why would the LPC care about making anyone with prohibs a paper criminal? It costs them nothing.

The original point of refusing to participate in the buyback was to not take part in your own humiliation. Same with boycotting CZ.

People who buy CZ on some level understand that principle. They just don’t like it when the sacrifice is not buying something they want. Because they're pathetic.

Sometimes the goal is simply not being part of the problem.

Not really. Their is a goal with not participating in the buyback. It’s to not legitimatize the buyback. That’s a tangible goal.

Yes you are right. The odds of the LPC backing down were low if not non existent. Also yea they are comfortable with making people paper criminals. However not partaking in the buyback does have the goal of not legitimatizing the buyback.

Okay but that’s not a tangible goal exactly.

Again. There is a tangible goal with not participating in the buyback which I explained above. You have yet to explain what the tangible goal is for not buying CZ products.

I bought used lol. Still waiting on what that tangible goal is for not buying CZ products is. Like at this point I would accept for spite as a answer as I do plenty of things out of spite myself.

I feel like you think you're steel-manning the argument but you're just being obtuse. I've already directly answered this. You just refuse to accept what I said as a valid answer.
