Good choice. The Mark IV is insanely easier to clean than the previous versions of the Ruger pistol.
5 u/georgeofthejungle71 Jun 05 '26 I bought a mark iii used. I don't think it had ever been cleaned. Never seen so much buildup ever Wasnt that bad to deal with 2 u/mechant_papa Jun 05 '26 With the Mark III, it's not taking it apart that's the problem. It's learning how to jiggle it just right to get it back together. 3 u/georgeofthejungle71 Jun 05 '26 Yep. That was an adventure lol 0 u/matt_1616 Jun 05 '26 I had to take mine to a gunsmith after taking it apart. 3 u/Rogan403 Jun 05 '26 Yup. Have had mine for a about 6 years now. It's not just insanely easier to clean than previous versions of the pistol, it's just straight up insanely easy to clean. I can field strip mine blindfolded in less than a second. 2 u/lerch_up_north lost in the praries Jun 05 '26 Seconded. I had a Mark 1 and 2 before getting a Mark 4 and fell in love with the ease of use.
